I'm New | Visitors' Information
Visiting a new church can be intimidating:
We understand the challenge of visiting a new church, so we want you to feel as comfortable as possible. Please feel free to contact us with any questions not covered here.

When are the services?
Our worship services are in person and on Zoom, Sundays at 10am.

What are the services like?
Our worship services last from 45-60 minutes, and include music, prayer, reflection, meditation, joy, sorrow, celebration, longing, and much more. Our Pastor leads us in receiving and wrestling with Holy Scripture as we connect with God through all that life brings us.
What should I wear?
Clothes. Seriously, just wear clothes. If you wear a nice dress, or a suit and tie, you won't be alone. If you wear jeans and a t-shirt, you'll fit right in. Simply come as you are.

What about my children?
Children are welcome, and our Pastor has a conversation with the younger church just before the sermon. We also have activity bags available to occupy little hands and minds, as well as a dedicated team of Children's Ministry volunteers who are available to assist with young children, if you would like. For special video messages for children, the St. Andrew’s YouTube channel and Facebook page have material available from past years.

Are you going to ask for my money?
No. As our guest, we don't expect your money. Come and enjoy yourself.

Where can I learn more?
Feel free to sign up to receive our weekly eNews to hear all that is going on at St. Andrew's Church.

Where are you located?
We are at the corner of Dosch Rd. and Sunset Blvd. in Southwest Portland. Click here for a map.

More questions?
We'd love to answer any of your questions. Feel free to contact the church office by e-mail or telephone during office hours (Monday – Thursday, 8:30am – 2:30 pm.)

We hope to see you soon at St. Andrew's Church!

I like St. Andrew's! How can I become a member?
Please contact the church office if you are considering membership. Preparation for membership typically involves a meeting with the Pastor, a class to answer your questions and give you an overview of our faith and service, a meeting with the governing board, and a special worship service.
A companion member of your choice will help you navigate through the first few months of membership. They will connect you to other members and provide information about special worship services, events, and service opportunities.

FELLOWSHIP
St. Andrew's offers a number of opportunities for fellowship -- we hope you will join us! ALL are welcome any time with no experience required. Here's a quick summary of the service and study groups available:
The St. Andrew's Quilters meet twice a month (2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 9:30am) in the quilting room to create a variety of fabric items for the community and to fund their mission. Items for donation or sale include quilts, dresses, masks, potholders, and dog beds. Please contact the church office to connect with this group.

Men's Bible Study meets virtually (via Zoom) on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7am. Please contact the church office to connect with this group.
Tuesday Night Volleyball takes place each Tuesday night from 6:00-8:00pm in Friendship Hall (the gym). St. A's Volleyball provides a safe, God-honoring space for all ages to build lifelong friendships and, unlike traditional verbal-based ministries, offers a role for those who prefer physical activity as a way to serve and connect.

Supper Church is a wonderful time of food and fellowship, as well as fun for the kiddos. We meet biweekly (2nd and 4th Sunday of each month) in the lounge/chapel from 5:00-6:30pm and children in attendance hear a Bible story and then take part in a craft that mirrors the lesson that week. Guests are ALWAYS welcome! For planning purposes, please RSVP to the SignUp Genius link. And, if you have any questions, or would like to discuss opportunities to provide an occasional meal for this bi-weekly gathering, please contact the church office to connect with the organizer.

St. A's Book Club meets monthly (Thursdays at 10am) in the lounge. Whether it's your first time attending a book club (ours or one in general), or if you're a seasoned reader with lots of book club experience, ALL are welcome. We hope you will join us!

Spiritual Formation Group meets monthly (Wednesdays from 12:30-2:00pm) in the lounge to discuss the many facets of spirituality, often using a book study format to guide discussions (e.g., cultivating contemplation and compassion, the seven days of Creation through the lens of Celtic Spirituality, and using past failures as stepping steps to spiritual formation). There's never a need to read the book(s) -- just drop in and join!

Women's Retreats have been held previously and is a tradition we hope to bring back. These weekend retreats (led by members, sometimes with a special speaker) featured time for fellowship and opportunities to get to know one another while enjoying relaxing activities like crafts, massage, yoga, and hiking.
