Help for China -
Working with our mission partner in China, Amity Foundation, Presbyterian Disaster
Assistance, has already sent funds from our One Great Hour of Sharing
offering and designated funds to help Amity purchase, rice, quilts, clean
water, and shelter material for the earthquake survivors. Amity will
focus its relief on approximately 8,000 families whose homes are destroyed
and are among the most vulnerable communities. If you would like to contribute
to this relief work make checks payable to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian
Church, and write China Earthquake on the memo line.
Help for Myanmar -
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the disaster relief ministry of the Presbyterian Church, USA,
has committed $100,000 from our One Great Hour of Sharing offering and other designated funds to
provide emergency assistance to survivors of the devastating cyclone in Myanmar. The funds will
focus on food first, and then shelter. Because of our connection with the Presbyterian Church of Myanmar,
Church World Service, and Action by Churches Together (ACT) International we will be able to work
with local partners to ensure the safe distribution of relief items to cyclone victims. If you want
to make a contribution to this relief effort please make checks payable to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian
Church and mark Myanmar cyclone in the memo line.
