Mission Partnership Giving
We pledge $13,490 of our general budget to the General Assembly for mission work here and abroad. Special Offerings One Great Hour of Sharing - Gifts go to the Presbyterian Hunger Fund, the Self Development of People Fund, and the Presbyterian Disaster and Refugee Resettlement Fund. Peacemaking Offering - Gifts are used for ministries of peace and reconciliation in the church, in the community and around the world. Christmas Joy Offering - This offering assists active and retired church workers in times of need, and helps support the eight racial and ethnic schools and colleges related to the Presbyterian church. Pentecost Offering - These funds are used to help at-risk children, both locally and around the world. The funds are also used to nurture faith in children and teens. Christmas Eve Offering - Our Christmas Eve offering is dedicated to a select local or global mission that we choose each year. Youth Mission Program The Youth of St. Andrew's spearhead a number of mission partnerships, all of which YOU are welcome to join in. On the 1st Sunday of each month, they cook, serve, and eat dinner with the women and children of Shepherd's Door, which is a ministry of the Portland Rescue Mission. They also form a team that travels to Richmond, California twice a year to partner in the ministry of the Bay Area Rescue Mission. This great ministry includes an innovative youth outreach program called King's Club, as well as Recovery Ministries for Men, Recovery Ministries for Families, a Soup Kitchen, Clothing Ministry, and much more. St. Andrew's also has a long history of building homes with Amor Ministries in Tijuana, Mexico during Spring Break. This great ministry continues today as we send team members to join a number of area churches every Spring Break.
