St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church: The Connecting Place

Missions

Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.

I John 3:18

Missions Logo Presbyterians believe that an essential component of faith includes giving routinely of time, money, and abilities given to us by God. At St. Andrew’s Presbyterian, members become informed of and engaged in a wide variety of needs. Some are local, while others are global.

Habitat for Humanity
The work of Habitat for Humanity is driven by the desire to give tangible expression to the love of God through the work of eliminating poverty housing and homelessness. Habitat's mission and methods are predominantly derived from a few key theological concepts: the necessity of putting faith into action, the "economics of Jesus" and the "theology of the hammer".
Oregon Faith Roundtable Against Hunger
This organization seeks to explore the complexities of hunger by engaging diverse religious communities throughout the state in direct service and in developing solutions to the root causes of hunger through education and public policy.
Southwest Community Health Center
A safety-net clinic for the uninsured and those without resources to access necessary health care. SWCHC provides basic quality health services in a safe, reassuring and culturally sensitive manner.
Oregon Center for Christian Values
The vision for OCCV is to transform Oregon through a network of Christian citizens, rooted in the Word, active in the public arena, bolding proclaiming the fullness of Christ’s vision for humanity, and empowered to work together to shape public policy for the common good. They seek to reach beyond the traditional “moral values” issues often discussed in American politics today. They call on Christians to reclaim the prophetic, transformational vision for culture and society that reverberates in the teachings of Jesus.
