Visits to Home-Bound Persons
Caring, faith-filled friends who aid our homebound brothers and sisters in remaining connected to the St. Andrew's by visiting regularly, listening, and offering loving support and care.
Communion Ministers to Home-Bound Persons
Caring, faith-filled friends who celebrate communion with those unable to attend the church's regularly scheduled celebration of the Lord's Supper.
Friendship Telephone Ministers
Caring, faith-filled friends connecting by telephone with all persons in the church to help people interconnect, to facilitate communication, and to identify the needs of each individual and every familly within St. Andrew's. This ministry is inspired by the apostle Paul's words of exhortation to the church in Corinth: "You are the body of Christ...if one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it."
Caring Friends Ministry to the Sick
Caring, faith-filled friends who work with the pastors in providing a support system to families who are facing surgery or other medical concerns. Their care includes prayer, visits and/or calls during the person's recovery. It may also include help with transportation, errands, and/or food. This ministry is inspired by the servant life of Jesus and by his words: "I was sick and you took care of me...just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me."
Health Ministry
Work with our Parish Nurse in administering a health ministry which will include health education programs and providing support to people with special health needs.
Memorial Service Receptions
Following memorial services, the deacons provide receptions for family members and friends of the deceased person.
