Sacraments of Holy Communion & Baptism
The Sacraments
The Lord’s Supper is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and during special times during the church year. At this meal we give thanks for God’s saving work in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This joyful feast of the people of God takes place as people walk forward to the Lord’s Table to receive the bread and cup (wine or juice). At St. Andrew's we take communion by walking to the front of the sanctuary to be served, then return to our seats. Those who are not able to walk so far are served where they are seated. Gluten-free alternatives to bread are available. All who seek to follow Jesus Christ are invited to participate in communion at St. Andrew's.
Baptism of infants, youth and adults takes place during our regular Sunday worship with prior approval of the Session. Following a time of instruction, parents bring their children to be marked and claimed by Christ and adopted into the household of faith. In baptism we died to our old selves and are raised with Christ to the new life he brings. Adults are baptized upon request and after meeting with the Pastor and Session.
