Visiting a new church can be intimidating: What should I wear? Where do I park? Where do my kids go?
We understand the challenge of visiting a new church where it seems that everyone else knows each other, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit.
Below are some frequently asked questions. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
When are the services?
Our worship services are on Sunday mornings at 10 AM.
What are the services like?
Our worship services last from 60 – 75 minutes, and include music, prayer, reflection, meditation, joy, sorrow, celebration, longing, and much more. Our Pastors lead us in receiving, and wrestling with, Holy Scripture, as we connect with God through all that life brings us. We participate in important rituals of grace and faith, such as Communion, Baptism, and Healing Prayer. Our worship style is “excellent” as we seek to use varied forms of music and liturgy, all to the best of our abilities. We have an excellent choir, a wonderful praise band, an occasional children’s choir, and many guest musicians. We use the organ, piano, keyboards, drums, guitar, brass, and strings, all for the glory of God.
What should I wear?
Clothes. Seriously, just wear clothes. If you wear a nice dress, or a suit and tie, you won’t be alone. If you wear jeans and a t-shirt, you’ll fit right in. Simply come as you are.
What about my children?
We have professionally staffed Nursery, Preschool, and Elementary rooms, all on the same hallway not far from our sanctuary. Elementary School-aged children are invited to sit in worship for the first 10 minutes, either with family or in the Children’s section. During the service, they are blessed and sent to class. In each room, the staff members are assisted by caring volunteers, and all under the leadership of our Associate Pastor, Jeremy Watson. An usher will be glad to help you find those rooms and introduce you to the teacher. Visit our Children’s Ministry Page for more information.
What do I do before or after the services?
We have 9 AM Class opportunities, which include education and fellowship in a smaller setting. You are welcome to grab a mocha, latte, or tea at our “Common Grounds” coffee shop during that hour, and to enjoy comfortable seating in our Lounge. After worship, all are invited to enjoy coffee and pastry treats in our narthex. We are known as a very friendly and welcoming church and we’d love to get to know you.
Are you going to ask for my money?
No. As our guest, we don’t expect your money. Come and enjoy yourself.
